The Template

A cruise itinerary template turns the line’s list of ports into a plan you can live by. Fill in the dates and times from your cruise documents, then add what you will do each day and whether it is booked. Here is the layout for a seven-night cruise; add or remove rows to match yours.

How to Fill It In

  • Copy port times from your booking or the line’s app; they are in ship time.
  • Mark tender ports: getting ashore by small boat takes longer than walking off at a pier.
  • Plan sea days too: spa, shows and dining reservations go fast.
  • Leave the last port day light if you have an early flight after disembarkation.
  • Put the evening plan in its own column so dinner times and shows do not clash.

Finding Things to Do

For port ideas, Caribbean Cruise Ports, Europe Port Excursions and Alaska Port Excursions list tours port by port, and Shore Activities covers the rest of the world. To decide how much to fit into a single day, use our port day worksheet.

Planning Sea Days Too

Sea days are not empty rows. On busy ships, spa appointments, specialty restaurants, behind-the-scenes tours and popular shows can fill up before you board, so give each sea day its own plan in the template. A simple pattern works well: one booked thing in the morning, one free afternoon, one evening plan. Mark celebrations such as birthdays on the right day so the dining team can be told in advance.

Keep a Copy Offline

Ship Wi-Fi can be slow or costly. Save the finished itinerary as a PDF on your phone and print one copy for the cabin door or the travel wallet.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use the cruise itinerary template in Word or Google Docs?

Yes. Open the CSV in a spreadsheet, then copy the table into Word or Google Docs, or simply copy the table on this page. Both keep the columns intact.

Why does the template start at Day 0?

Because the night before is part of the trip. Arriving a day early protects you from delayed flights, and the hotel and transfer need planning too.

Sharing the Itinerary

Send the finished cruise itinerary template to a relative or friend at home with the ship’s name and the line’s emergency contact details. If plans change at sea, they will know where you are each day.

Prefer paper? Print the template on landscape pages; the columns are sized to fit.
